seattle seahawks

everytime we mention seattle (and we've been talking about it a lot this past week with simon just completing the bike ride from van to seattle)... anyways, every time we mention seattle, mason questions "seattle seahawks??" its so funny. every single time.

also, he thinks that the seahawks are a baseball team.. after all, the name is on his baseball cap....i told him that they were a football team, but he said "no mommy, baseball".  

ok bud, whatever you say.

mason had his first sleep over

simon is away this weekend doing the ride to conquer cancer - he and a bunch of his friends have raised money to support cancer research and they are riding with approx 3000 others from vancouver to seattle.

so simon is away so mason and vic will play!! we had a sleepover! mason's pal reaghan came over along with her mom jaclyn and we had a great night!  kids had fun, as did the moms!! (yes some great wine was consumed!)

jac wanted to get some photos from me so we ended up looking through my files - here are some from a shoot i did with them about a month ago down at the beach...

that is how simon, and the English/South Africans refer to back yard.  doesn't that sound better that playing in the back yard.... back garden sounds so.. so.. umm.. so fancy!! but really our back yard is just that.. not much of a garden.. but mason has fun!

and after all the fun and excitement... crashing out on mom's pillow at the end of a busy day....

....than friday night dinner on the deck with close friends on a warm summer night.  carrie, pete and jack came over from victoria to spend the weekend with us. we started the weekend out right with a great dinner on the deck with some cold beer, a nice bottle of wine and some great chats all round.

i love living here but there are many times i've pined for the luxury of "popping" over to visit my family and close friends... to stop in at my mom and dad's for a quick cup of tea... to go for a run with my sister on a warm evening... to have my close girlfriends pop over for a glass of wine on a thursday eve.....
